Jewish Disability Awareness Month 2012

It’s Here! JDAM Reads!

Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon.
A special discussion guide was written by Rachel Simon, Sandy Block and Shelly Christensen that highlights Jewish values in the book.
The Story of Beautiful Girl was interviewed by Judy Woodruff on the PBS NewsHour. She talks about the story, how she came to write it and why she was able to write in the voices of her main characters, two people with different disabilities. Great interview!

JDAM Reads for Children!

Jumping Jenny by Ellen Bari.
This is a great book for children 4-10 as it raises awareness about being different and how differences can actually be used to make a difference in the world!
Join Ellen Bari, Linda Zimmerman and Shelly Christensen for a lively webinar chat on February 15. Register for your seat here! Seats are limited so register now!
